In Salon, France Nostradamus wrote the document named The
Prophecies (initial publication 1555). In the preface to that work
Nostradamus told of encountering the spirit of Jesus Christ; and
Nostradamus named Jesus Christ as the true author of the enigmatic
verses (called quatrains). He also explained his work would be
misunderstood, purposefully, so that they would not be unnecessarily
harmful, nor would they be destroyed, before they would need to be
fully understood. His words are true, as his quatrains and letters have
