Interpreting Two Quatrains with Linking Word Usage
Let us look at two of the quatrains written by Nostradamus, which appear in Les Propheties, and compare them for a
moment. The two are found in different sections, such that one is understood to be numbered IV - 27, and the other
V - 57. In the Old French, these two state:
IV - 27 V - 57
Salon, Mansol, Tarascon de SEX. l'arc, Istra de mont Gaulsier & Aventin,
Ou est debout encor la piramide: Qui par le trou adhertira l'armee:
Viendront livrer le prince Dannemarc, Entre deux rocz sera prins le butin,
Rachat honni au temple d'Artemide. De SEXT. mansol faillir la renommee.
Now, hopefully you do not read French fluently. The point is not to read any more than what seems similar. If one
simply slides a finger over the two sets of four lines, comparing the two sets of words, it immediately (hopefully) stands
out that both quatrains include the all-cap letters, SEX, and although one set includes a capital T (SEXT), both sets of
all-cap letters end in a period mark. That means both all-cap words are abbreviations. We are safe assuming they
are abbreviations because the period mark is not followed by a capitalized word.
On the same lines as the all-cap SEX. and SEXT., we then find the letters spelling out "mansol", although one quatrain
has this capitalized, and in front of SEX., while the other has it in the lower case, following SEXT. Still, both quatrains
have words that are very similar, although slightly different.
Another thing that stands out (or should to the careful eye) is the presence of capitalized words that appear to be
names, like the capitalized Mansol appears to be. In quatrain IV - 27 we see Salon, Mansol, Tarascon, Dannemarc,
and d'Artemide, while in quatrain V - 57 we find Gaulsier and Aventin. This plethora of "names" would make it appear
to be a relatively simple matter of connecting the "names" together in a story, but some of the "names" are not really
names at all. Some are recognizable names, and some are close to recognizable names, but simply don't seem to
make sense together. For instance, Salon could mean Salon-de-Provence, and Tarascon could mean
Tarascon-sur-Rhône, which are both cities in southern France, not far from one another. However, Dannemarc,
which if it means Denmark, is nowhere close to southern France; and Aventin is close to one of the seven hills of
Rome (Aventine), but that also is not too close to southern France. Artemide is the French spelling of the Greek
name for Artemis (the Roman goddess named Diana), which is yet on another face of Europe, nowhere close to
southern France. Neither Mansol or Gaulsier is any known place or person, which makes these two quatrains vet
difficult to even translate, much less interpret.
Add to all those names, another name that is not even noticed. That name is Istra, the first word of quatrain V - 57,
which seems to be a "third person singular future tense" form of an irregular verb, "istre". Only problem is there is no
such animal in modern French. The closest to something like that is the Old French verb "issir", which meant, "to
issue; to go, or depart out; to flow forth." This word no longer exists in French, and it conjugation in the third person
singular future tense would be attached to the auxiliary verb être (to be), as "sera issu" (will be issued), or something
like that, more than "istra" meaning "will issue". It would not morph into Istra, with a capital first letter, which shows an
importance of Istra. The capitalization does, however, allow it to morph from Istra into the place known as Istria. It is
the Slovenian spelling (Istra) of Istria, and Istria is a peninsula is Croatia, along the Adriatic Sea. This is a place
somewhat close to Rome, where the Aventine Hill is located. That is the primary purpose of Istra, although the
intended misleading of "To flow forth" can have secondary meaning, through implication.
This means the key to both quatrains boils down to deciphering "mansol" and "SEX(T)." To do this, one has to realize
that mansol is the same as Mansol, only one is more important (the capitalized version), and one is less important.
Seeing this as the same word with greater and lesser meaning, we can conjecture that SEX. is the same abbreviated
word as SEXT., with both being of the same equal importance, meaning quite IMPORTANT.
Whenever Nostradamus wrote a word that is not a word, or not spelled 100% correct (according to some European
language), it must be tweaked as a manufactured word. The first rule of thumb is to try French words combined as
one, with the second rule of thumb being to look for Latin words combined as one. When all that still leaves one
scratching his or her head, it is okay to try and look for a simple anagram being the answer. As far as "mansol" is
concerned, I ruled French out. It appears to be a Latin combination, as "man-sola", mano-sol" or "manus-solus".
That leaves it being either, "manna only", flow sun", or "hand only". In Latin, the ending can be read first, such that
these become, "only manna", "sun flow", and "only hand". The only one I would eliminate is the one with "manna" in it,
but I like the one where sol is sun. When capitalized, Sun-flow strikes a better image of importance. It is reminiscent
of Apollo driving his chariot, pulling the Sun across the sky; and we all remember that Apollo was the twin brother of
Artemis.
Latin is also the way to go with the all-caps SEXT. This leaves three possibilities, which as SEXTILE (an astrological
aspect of 60-degrees), SEXTILIS (the Roman name for the sixth month of the year, since changed to AUGUST), and
SEXTUS (meaning "sixth" or "for the sixth time"). All have potential, but because Nostradamus was an astrologer, I
choose SEXTILE to be the first choice.
With those two determined as good starting points, we then realize we have a string of capitalized words in the first
line of quatrain IV - 27, which now says, "Salon, Sun-flow, Tarascon to SEXTILE the arc," which makes me wonder if
Salon and Tarascon are really supposed to be places at all (Nostradamus actually warned about his "places"). This
makes one look at Salon, and recognize it as a word we all use, as in "hair salon". The word is French, and actually
means, "lounge, sitting room, exhibition, or show". If we have a "Sun-flow", sounds like a "show" or "exhibition" to me.
That leaves Tarascon, which is clearly the town in southern France, only it is a small town, and not much happens
there these days. However, the legend is that before the place was named there was a monster that menaced the
people, which was named the Tarascque. It is described on Wikipedia as, "The Tarasque was a sort of dragon with
six short legs like a bear's, an ox-like body covered with a turtle shell , and a scaly tail that ended in a scorpion's
sting. It had a lion's head. Thus, Tarasc-on is One Tarasque, or A Monster. Hmmmm Now, as a main theme, we see
quatrain IV - 27 stating, "Exhibition, Sun-flow, Monster to SIXTY DEGREES the arc," which is making a good visual.
The main them is about an important Show, or Exhibition, which is like Apollo driving his chariot of fire across the sky,
as an important Sun-flow, but it is not the Sun flowing, but a Monster. It is a monster with a VERY IMPORTANT flow
that is SIXTY DEGREES away, flowing in an arch. Sounds like a missile being fired to me; and I imagine it would seem
like the Sun pouring out of something flowing across the sky. An important point to remember is the intentional
(although misleading) focus of line one is southern France, so from there the Sun's flow is towards the West. Keep
that in mind.
The second line of quatrain IV - 27 begins by stating, "Ou est", which could translate as, "Where is," but the word "est"
can easily mean, "east". Thus, we can see that the Monster Flowing-Sun in Exhibition over Salon-de-Provence and
Tarascon-sur-Rhône is heading West, coming from the East. Nostradamus then said in line two, "Where east still
standing as yet there pyramid:", which only leaves a couple of possibilities. maybe a few pyramids existed in France
during Nostradamus' time, which were east of Salon-de-Provence and in France, or he meant the one really big one
in Egypt. Giza is roughly 30-degrees North longitude, and 31-degrees East latitude. An arc of 60-DEGREES, from
those coordinates, would reach as far as 90-degrees North latitude, and/or 29-degrees West longitude. In other
words, all of Western Europe would be reachable.
So, if you are following so far, quatrain IV - 27 has a main theme that states a show of a monster is flowing west, with
the secondary theme saying it comes from the east, in Egypt. The third line, which follows a colon (examples or
clarification follow those), and supports the main theme, then has that craziness about Dannemarc. We know
Denmark is in Europe, so it is within a SIXTY DEGREE arc from Egypt, but it makes little sense as an example of the
pyramid of Giza and an exhibition. This means the misspelling of Dannemarc means it does not mean Denmark.
Here, French, rather than Latin becomes the combination to look at.
Break Dannemarc down into "D'an-né-marc" and it says, "From-year-born-dregs", or "Of-year-raised-bottom". As a
personified word of importance (capitalization), it is making the statement, all by itself, "This is The year that those
considered the dregs of humanity are born anew, and raised to an equal status." That is meaning that a missile fired
towards Europe is a statement of equality in the ability to rain destruction upon mankind. The words that lead to
Dannemarc then state, "Will be coming to deliver a monarch that message of Dannemarc". Line three is then saying,
"Here's your equality in missile technology you Lords over the world."
Line four then talks about Artemis, who as the twin to the Sun god Apollo, was the Moon goddess. Artemis represents
Islam, as Islamic nations revere the Moon, to the degree many Islamic nations put the crescent moon on their flags.
Line four then explains the message of line three, and why the antiquity of the pyramid stands for the power the
Egyptians once enjoyed, by stating, "Ability to recover land at the temple of Artemis". The temple is the one on the
mount, in the land that was taken to remake Israel. The message of line three is made because the Ability (important
ability) is there. This means they plan on recovering the land lost from Palestine, but to keep any outside meddlers
from thinking about stopping them, here's a message that says, "Keep out."
Now, to look closer at quatrain V - 57, remember we determined that Istra means the peninsula known as Istria, in
Croatia. Croatia is an old nation, which was lost to the Communist-dominated nation Yugoslavia after the Second
World War. It resurfaced in the late 1980s, when war broke out in Yugoslavia's meltdown, after the collapse of the
Soviet Union. Croatia is where the Christian descendants of Yugoslavia live. That is where Christian Serbs were
trying to get to, when the ethnic "cleansing" by Serbian Communists began to eliminate all Serbs of the Christian and
Muslim variety. As a peninsula, Istria has some mounts. In fact, that is where one can find Monte Maggiore, the
highest point in the Cicciaria mountain range that runs through there. This means we are sitting on top of a mountain
in Istria, needing to know what Gaulsier means; but keeping in mind the intended meaning of Istra is "Will flow forth",
and there is another "flow" word, like the flow in Mansol (Sun-flow).
Return to the French combination for a manufactured word for Gaulsier. We know that France was known as Gaul to
the Romans, but the Old French called France France, preferring to use the word Gaule to mean a Big Rod, or a
Pole, with which to beat someone, since Gaulé meant "beaten black and blue". The French also have a word "sier",
which meant "to saw, to cut asunder, and to reap." Hmmmm This means Gaule-sier is the root for Gaulsier. Okay,
now we have a Big Rod sitting on a mountain top in Croatia, and we all know that a missile could be seen as a Pole, or
Big Rod, especially one designed to "cut asunder". That means we reach the ampersand, where only Aventine
follows. This means the Big Rod is going to be with Aventine, like Big Rod & Aventine, but to get there it has to leave
Croatia. Missles can do that, which means Aventine (or Rome) is the target of the Big Rod. This Big Bad Rod Will
flow forth from Istria, with the ampersand indicating the important destination - Rome.
Line two then becomes pretty clear, as it states, "Which through the gap will warn the army:" This is clearly missile
detection devices, like radar, and some signal to alert the military. The "gap" is the Adriatic Sea, but that "gap" in
time, with a missile traveling, is not a lot of warning to give.
Line three then states, "Between two", which is a combination of words found in several quatrains. It actually
translates better as, "Together two" This is an alliance of two, and with the missile on top of Croatia being shot at
Rome, we have an Eastern European partner. With the other quatrain telling of a missile being fired from Egypt, we
have an Arab-Muslim partner. Thus, the "two" are Muslims and Eastern Europeans. These become "two rocks",
where a rock is known for being hard, as well as being translated as "strongholds". Italy is then "between two rocks".
And line three then finishes by stating, will be taken a booty". This means Italy is the spoil of war for those who have
nothing of their own.
Line four is then where we find SEXT. mansol again. Here, mansol being in the lower case does not need to have
Sun in its translation, and Nostradamus did not typically repeat the same intended meaning in repeated words. thus,
with Sun-flow used, we can now use, "only spread" (where "flow" and "spread" both come from "mano", and "only"
comes from "sola"). This means line four now says, "With SIXTY DEGREES only-spread to fail there reputation." This
sounds an awful lot like a spray of missiles over SIXTY DEGREES, which will test the reputation of the West to defend
its cities by defensive shields. We all know the lore of the Strategic Defense Initiative (SDI) under Ronald Reagan, or
the Star Wars Technology, right? Well, it was a lot of hot air. There is nothing like that. Which means, those
defensive plans of Western Europe will be tested "to fail". So much for "renown".
With all this realized, the two quatrains can be translated now as such:
IV - 27 V - 57
Exhibition, Sun-flow, Monster with SIXTY Istria on mountain Big rod - to cut asunder &
DEGREES the arc, Aventine
Where east still standing even yet the Which through the gap will warn the army:
pyramid:
Will be coming to deliver them From-year-dregs- Together two strongholds will be seized the booty,
raised,
Ability to recover land shamed at the temple of To SIXTY DEGREES only-spread to fail there
Diana. reputation.
