The word “amphibological” means, “of doubtful meaning,” and “ambiguous”.
However, it is synonymous with the term used in Logic, which is “equivocation”.
The word “amphibology” is defined as meaning, “ambiguity of expression, especially when due to
grammatical construction” (Free Online Dictionary)
The word “equivocation” is defined as meaning, “the use of language that is ambiguous, i.e. equally
susceptible of being understood in two different ways. There is usually a strong connotation that the
ambiguity is being used with intention to deceive.” (Wikipedia on Answers.com)
This means everything of The Prophecies can be read in different ways AND should be read that way. It
is intended to mislead.
That is strange isn’t it? It’s like a foreign language.

Who here can spot his or her sign on this slide?
Who here can spot his or her ruling planet?
If you are looking for Uranus, Neptune, Chiron or Pluto, then you will need to use a telescope. Only
visible planets are shown.
Who here does not have all of these planets and signs represented in his or her natal chart?
Then you are an amphibological statement.
We all are. One glyph can only define us when it is able to mean all it can mean, rather than just one
meaning. Thus, we are ambiguous to others ... and we are even ambiguous to ourselves, from time to
time.
Astrology is then an amphibological language.
And, we have just seen how Nostradamus explained in the letter to Henry that The Prophecies is as full of
multiple meanings as is the language of astrology.
This means The Prophecies is a language of its own, like is astrology.
While astrology uses common words (square, conjunct, opposition, ruler, applying, separating, masculine,
feminine, and so on), it does so uncommonly.
One has to learn astrology to speak astrology, otherwise a statement like, “I have Mercury retrograde
hitting my Saturn in my eighth house, squaring my eleventh house Mars”

could make one think about cars going in reverse having accidents, being owned by a home builder or
realtor, with some fixing up needed.
That astrological statement, “Mercury retrograde conjunct Natal Saturn in the 8th house, square Natal
Mars in the 11th house," does not have only one meaning.
It has a plethora of meaning.
Nostradamus wrote The Prophecies in the same manner, and astrologers can see that through his use
of astrological terminology.
An astrologer reads a word like “Mars” and immediately the head can be filled with many meanings.

The one meaning that astrologers AND people who know nothing about astrology can both see, when
reading “Mars,” is the physical body in our solar system … the Red Planet.
That is not so much the astrological meaning as it is the astronomical meaning.
People are taught basic astronomy in the public education system and media awareness, so they
understand that physical meaning.
People are not taught astrology so that its terminology can be commonly understood. Only those who
seek to learn it see the other icons on this slide.
Therefore, when a person without an understanding of astrology reads a word like “Mars,” they only see
“one lone sense.”
They do not have that “unique intelligence” that allows them to see “calculated amphibology”.
They see “ambiguity” and “doubtful meaning” in astrology, just as Nostradamus explained would be the
reaction to The Prophecies.
This brings up the issue of how Nostradamus was able to write The Prophecies.
