Entry for December 31, 2006

Happy New Year 2007!  I pray this will the the year that people begin to seriously take notice of what I have to say about Nostradamus.  I pray that because you need to not only understand what I have to say, you have to believe it with all your heart.  If you don't and most others don't, then expect the daily news to be filled with more and more bad news, leading to situations that cannot be escaped (like Iraq) or prevented (terrorism).  Interestingly, the History Channel has called this week between Christmas and New Years "Armageddon Week", where all of its programming had some cataclysmic, end of the world theme.  One was the repeat airing of the show "Nostradamus: 500 Years Later."  That was a show originally aired in 2003, supposedly celebrating 500 years since the birth of Nostradamus.  If you saw the recent airing or one of the previous airings, you might have come away with greater doubts about the believability of what Nostradamus wrote.  Let me reassure you that what you saw was simply entertainment and of little value by which to base any belief.  As I state in one of my pages, Everything You Thought You Knew About Nostradamus is Wrong, and the Histroy Channel only promotes sensationalism, which did not once present a quatrain as Nostradamus wrote it.  Everything argued was opinion, which is not how logic is used to solve disagreements.  I would like to send you to this link: http://atheism.about.com/od/logicalarguments/Logical_Arguments_Introduction_t... This is, as you can see, a link to an athesis portion of a website, About.com, which is part of their section telling About philosophy and specifically the branch of philosophy called logic.  Logic is how athesists try to defeat arguments for God, but it is how anyone can truly settle disagreements once and for all.  The problem is, most people know nothing about logic, while they know a lot  about how to state an opinion that has not logical truth attached to it.  I recommend that you go to this page and click on each one of the links to pages defining and describing all of the vital elements needed to know for devising a logical argument.  If you read them all you will find out how clear it is that no one has ever logocally debated what Nostradamus wrote.  Some quotes you will find on those pages are: "Logic sounds like an esoteric subject for academic philosophers, but the truth of the matter is that logic is applicable anywhere that reasoning and arguments are being used. Whether the actual subject matter is politics, ethics, social policies, raising children, or organizing a book collection, we use reasoning and arguments to arrive at specific conclusions. If we don’t apply the criteria of logic to our arguments, we cannot trust that our reasoning is sound."  Another quote is, "the study of logic introduces one to many common mistakes that most people make."  Further the author states, "Logic, strictly speaking, is the science or study of how to evaluate arguments and reasoning. Logic is what allows us to distinguish correct reasoning from poor reasoning. Logic is important because it helps us reason correctly — without correct reasoning, we don’t have a viable means for knowing the truth or arriving at sound beliefs."  He also writes, "Logic is not a matter of opinion: when it comes to evaluating arguments, there are specific principles and criteria which should be used. If we use those principles and criteria, then we are using logic; if we aren’t using those principles and criteria, then we are not justified in claiming to use logic or be logical. This is important because sometimes people don’t realize that what sounds reasonable isn’t necessarily logical in the strict sense of the word."  When you read on you find out that language is not as simple as you might think it is to understand.  Nostradamus wrote in the French language, which has been translated to many other languages, particularly the English language, and that transfer is where many errors have occurred, which can be logically defeated in argument.  Each and every word of language has to be properly defined, and all words have definitions, but not all words have only one definition.  many words have many definitions, depending on use.  Many of the translations and interpretations presented on the History Channel were limiting the definition to one context.  That context came from altering the style Nostradamus used to write the quatrains, by altering capitalization and eliminating and changing punctuation.  Nothing you saw pasted on the television screen was what Nostradamus wrote.  Therefore, the end of the show, which brought out the blazing "expert witnesses" Penn & Teller (one acts mute, so why was he there?), who simply made fun of the people who have wrongly translated and interpreted.  They did nothing to defeat Nostradamus.  NOTHING.  Again, I recommend that you take this step you have taken - finding this webpage and blog - where you now know the fun and laughter about Nostradamus is over.  He wrote a serious message for YOU to know and for YOU to tell others.  You don't have to prove anything to anyone but yourself.  Don't believe me blindly, just like you would believe anyone blindly.  Prove it to yourself - one way or another - by using logic.  When you do that, you will see that I am not crying wolf needlessly.  A big bad wolf is coming our way, and it is someone you know in wolf clothing.  You have the power to help stop this wolf from destroying the world you know and the life you enjoy.  But reading this and going about your merry way will do nothing for YOU or those YOU love.  Let's make 2007 the first year we realize how covered our heads have been and open our eyes to see where our executioners have been leading us.  Till the next time.
