THE SYSTEMS OF NOSTRADAMUS
by Robert Tippett
I remember when I first became interested in Nostradamus, way back in 1976, I
bought a book that, like most books on Nostradamus, listed the quatrains in the
Centuries, just as they were ordered when first published in 1555 & 1558.  That
book included the Old French quatrains, along side the English text.  Since I did not
read French at all, I looked at the Old French, scratched my head and learned to
trust the English translations as actually being what Nostradamus wrote.  I believe
most Americans are the same way.  We trust that the translations are accurate.
When I first began to understand what Nostradamus had written, in 2001, that
understanding came from still maintaining this trust in the translations.  However, I
began to look at the Old French and wonder how five French words could turn into
seven to nine words in English.  I began to do my own checks of the translations, by
using a French - English dictionary.  I was amazed to see that what Nostradamus
actually wrote had been changed in the translation.  With this closer inspection, I also
saw that the punctuation that Nostradamus had written was mostly tossed away in
translation.  I quickly saw how the new translations added impact to the different
interpretations that I had found, from someone else's translations.  Plus, I saw that
the punctuation used in the quatrains actually guided one to read the words properly.
 This was the beginning of the realization that there was method to the mayhem;
and, this became what I called the Systems of Nostradamus.
When I first began to realize that a story was being told in the quatrains, I did not
fully grasp that Jesus Christ was the author of Nostradamus' work, and that he just
the one that physically wrote it down in dictation.  By seeing these systems I
marveled as just how amazing Nostradamus was, to have conceived this system,
where everything written had meaning.  However, once the system was applied to
the Letter of Preface and it made more sense than any author had written of it to
make, it made everything so clear.  The perfection of the systems can only be from a
much higher power than man can generate.  Just as every quatrain will be found to
be infallibly accurate, so too is every mark and every word infallibly written.  If you
read the introductions of most authors of Nostradamus, they explain that
Nostradamus clearly had a unique style; but, they all seem to conclude that this style
is okay to discard, to make the words fit their preconceptions.  Most, if not all, have
reached the many words that appear to be misspelled and they footnote how some
word in Greek or some other foreign language (other than French or Latin) might be
the root of this misspelled word.  Their interpretation is then based on that word.
The system of Jesus Christ has no misspelled words.  It does, however, coin new
words, using roots that are only from the two languages that Nostradamus wrote in -
French and/or Latin.  An example of just how common this practice is can be found
when Alexander Graham Bell invented a device that would allow someone to talk at
some distance, without shouting.  That device, never before known, thus
unnammed, was called the telephone, which combines the Greek roots "tele" (far)
and "phone" (sound).  Every "misspelled" word that Nostradamus supposed wrote
can have meaning determined by using this system; and, it works every time.
All of the systems work this same way.  Each mark of punctuation has a use that is
the definition of that use, from a handbook of language.  A capitalized word takes on
an importance, as would a proper name.  Since each quatrain is a poem, in an ABAB
rhyme scheme, there is the symbolism of poetry found in the words used; and, the
order of the lines is most important.  In fact, the order of each word cannot be
changed, which means that syntax cannot be applied to groups of words.  This is
why the French cannot make sense of what Nostradamus wrote.  Order is so
important in the verses that it cries out for order to be found in the placement of the
quatrains.  Astrology is also used by Nostradamus to guide us to the timing of
events; but, without understanding the systems, most astrologers would get this
timing wrong.  Once one begins to learn the systems and begin applying them to the
actual verses, it quickly becomes evident just how remarkable the systems are.
They are actually simple to figure out; but, to put so many simple elements into a
document so long, it becomes so complex that it has safely concealed the meaning of
this work for 450 years.
